For as long as I can remember, I've been an artist, drawing, painting, making, in just about any form I could get my hands on: pencil, paper, paint, clay, stone, woodwork and digital. It's the one thread that runs through my whole life, and like many artists, a constant pull of curiosity and a thirst to explore something unknown. These days, metal sculpture is a craft that feels like something maybe I should have been doing all along, one of the most natural things I've ever done, and I can't really explain why. I'll lose hours at a time in the shop, completely absorbed in a piece, to the point where time seems to stand still.

Each piece takes real time to make, and it asks something of the viewer in return: a moment to slow down and take in the intricate detail built from all those different materials. I love that process, and I love watching people's reactions the first time they see a piece in person; it resonates in a way I haven't quite felt with any other medium. I don't know what that means exactly, and I don't think it needs to mean anything. It just feels right.

That same instinct is what led me here, to a studio in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, building sculptures inspired by nature and wildlife, where each piece starts with something I've observed outdoors and then takes shape by hand, welded from a combination of reclaimed and new steel, piece by piece, resulting in something truly one of a kind. Not cast for reproduction, not made into editions, not anything in between. One of one.
